She was tired of playing her traditional toxic games. Overwhelmed with the lies she constantly told to lure her prey. She knew it was time to retire when she started to confuse birthdays. “Did you say yours was at the end of May” to the one with the same date of birth as she? Constantly having to remember which dress she wore last from their most recent encounter. Due to the fact she has had about five other dates with five different potential mates since they last met.

She looks at herself in the mirror as she prepares to be courted by yet another gentleman. She realizes she’s begun to hate this game she’s playing. Allowed the fear of love to become her racing drug to beat men at their game. So as one man asked her to move in, another stated he’ll invest whatever to make her dreams come true, while another asked her to be committed only to him. She realizes she has been the only one playing this toxic game. Her heart yearns for true love but her actions say differently. Too consumed with the manipulation games she misses. Misses the life where she dated the same man every day for 1,095 days.

So as she powders her nose and lines her lips. She started to envision what her life would be if she called the guy she fell for after the heartbreak of 1,095 days. She asks herself an important question? What would my life look like if marriage was not an option? She begins to see visions of a new dream that looked nothing like her in a white ball gown being photographed in Italy. Yet this vision still puts just as big of a smile on her face. While she knew the importance of marriage and family. She also realized the importance of betting on herself first before limiting her future to only being a wife and mom. While the wedding in Italy will still be a part of her dreams she decided to lock it away and spend 1,095+ days on her other dreams.

Here Are Five Tips To Help You Not Give Up On Your Dreams

      1. Ask yourself, what is my purpose?… Purpose can sometimes be hard to identify. A lot of times we will attach our purpose based on the lifestyle we are looking for in return. However, I was once told if your dream only benefits you it’s probably not your purpose. Despite the trend of the world revolving around self. We all share some sort of responsibility to the community of this world. I feel like mine is to inspire others with my words. Sometimes it takes a lifetime to figure it out. However, never allow this life to discourage you from identifying your purpose. Be purposeful purposefully.

      1. Write it down and make it plain… While it is important to speak your dreams into existence it is just as important to write down your goals and commit. Remember faith without works is dead. Don’t be the person who merely talks about everything but always too scared to act on those things. When you write out your dreams, be as specific as possible. Don’t hold back at all. For you know the desires of your heart and you are the only one who can make these things come to past.

      1. Spend time nurturing your purpose… Time is such a beautiful reward that we take for granted. Many times you will hear things like “life is short” & “time flies”. While it’s not to say these things aren’t true but instead I dare you to change your perspective. Pace yourself and know whatever you spend your time with will grow in due time. So as you keep spending time with your craft and catering to its needs it will have no choice but to grow. Love the process. Don’t rush it.

      1. Figure out a stress reliever… I love being realistic so I’m not going to tell you when you feel stressed to just pray, workout, or meditate. While those are all great stress relievers I also believe a couple shots, weekend getaway, a night out with friends can be just as beneficial if not more sometimes. Allow your body to tell you what it needs. Green juice and the sauna is not always the answer.

      1. Practice positive thinking… “For as he thinketh in his heart, so he is” It all starts with the mind. You have the capability to change your reality by changing your mindset. Think bigger, dream bigger, and expand your knowledge of this world. Listen to differing perspectives. Explore new environments. You want more in life, go after exactly that. How you see yourself is more important than how anyone else sees you.

Philippians 4:6… “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God”
