Exposed her body for a little more attention.
Rejected lovers based merely on their net worth.
Self-condemnation only appeared when she felt as though he didn’t pay nearly as much as the others.
So I looked at her and asked, What more do you want?
“To be taken care of,” she responded. “I’m the prize. I’m the golden ticket, and I deserve everything my heart desires.”
I didn’t necessarily disagree.
Just merely confused about why she only felt that way because she was “conventionally pretty.”
Her last man took her on nice dates and trips already,
so the next better come correct.
She wants bags, cars, and condos this time.
The Price Went Up
The girl grew up in the church,
so she keeps God number one.
Well,
until she has to negotiate what she’s willing to do for love,
or, better yet, what she’s willing to do to have enough.
She says God didn’t put us on this earth to suffer, and I’ll be damned if I let a man use me.
So I guess the sin is not the sex itself, just whether or not it comes with jewelry.
The Price Went Up
I want a rich man, a lit man, you know, a legit man.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
The lies she tells herself to cover up the fact that she’s looking to be saved, not looking for love.
When you grow up in survival, a man becomes the dream.
Never taught that the same thing you are looking for from him, you could actually be.
I’m not sure when it became normal to sell yourself short,
but it’s possible to get everything you want by merely saving yourself.
