Mad, Black, & Woman

Mad, Black, & Woman. How about we differentiate the three. Somehow you put these labels together and get a caricature that is untrue. By allowing these three words to become one label we are completely taking the validity out of why she’s mad, the fact she’s black, and the cherry on top being a woman is beyond a lot. So when I’ve been beaten, abused, belittled to nothing more than an obscene object. While taught my existence is merely to be of pleasure to men. Do I not have the right to be mad? My own people have allowed the depiction of being black and a woman to be illustrated by a white society that literally despises me. While adopting their views on what it is to be black. How are you not mad? Maybe it’s because I have a vagina in between my legs that makes men feel as though they have unlimited access. Are you not mad? You see, I’m not a Mad Black Woman. I’m a woman who happens to be black that’s mad at the fact that her people can’t see they’ve allowed our entire identity to be made up of caricatures, and idolized beings that were set up to make me look mad because I’m black and a woman.

Even though being a black woman you have many “rights to be mad”. It’s important to understand it is not healthy.
