Humble is the thing to be. However, too many turn their humility into not acknowledging their accomplishments. We tend to get being humble misconstrued with not celebrating ourselves to make the insecure, unconfident, and self-hating individuals more comfortable in their skin. In a society perpetuated by envy, many will overly boast to give themselves a superior feeling. While others tend to not celebrate themselves enough due to not wanting to come off in a boastful manner. Either way, both are two extremes that are not healthy.
It’s important to know it’s okay not to be humble in everything. You owe yourself to celebrate your accomplishments and brag about yourself. Anyone who tries to knock you off your pedestal, or make you feel as though you are “doing too much” is a person who has no reason to be in your circle. Surround yourself with people who are just as proud of you. Just as joyous. Most of all just as boastful. It’s important to always recognize the great things you’ve done. Remember to celebrate what you’ve done as well as who you are as a person.
Acknowledge your accomplishments, take the time to acknowledge all the things you’ve done. It will be so fulfilling.
Reward yourself. Rather this be a self-care day, going out with friends, or buying something you have been wanting make sure you reward yourself.
Take the time out to review everything you did to accomplish that goal. This will allow you to see all your hard work done.
Brag about yourself. Even though it has become a negative thing to brag about yourself DO IT. This doesn’t even necessarily mean to brag about yourself to other people but find a way to do a little bragging.
Create new goals to accomplish, so you are celebrating yourself for the rest of your life
It’s sometimes hard to get out of your comfort zone of being “humbled”. However, you have to understand the difference between being humbled and modest. My therapist told me I was entirely too modest. Which is something I continue to work on to this day. I’m the type of person who let alone doesn’t brag about myself, but hell I don’t even take the time out to celebrate my accomplishments half the time. Don’t keep jumping to the next goal. Take those five helpful steps from above and utilize them. I promise to celebrate yourself is beyond rewarding, and anyone who makes you feel like its not remove them from your life.
