Abused Girl

I will never forgive the black community on how you handled sexual abuse

It’s disturbing how okay you are with violations just because they have a relation to you

You acted as if you couldn’t fathom how R Kelly’s victims stayed so their stories were made out to be untrue

But how many of you still go to the family dinners and reunions where your abuser sit across from you

Now this isn’t to bring up past trauma or to hurt you

But for you to see how normalized we’ve made sexual abuse

You discredit women and protect the black man

While preaching unity amongst us a community but yet and still make black women feel the most unprotected

If my father didn’t protect me, my mother didn’t protect me, my brothers didn’t protect me wtf I’m supposed to do

But as soon as I spread my legs for more than 3 plus men I’m no longer seen as woman but as a tool,

And as soon as I say I feel so unprotected, here comes the hate

Because it’s better to negate a victim’s story than to accept blame

Suicide amongst young black girls is at an alarming high

But we rather keep forcing the narrative that racism is our biggest crime

You abuse her mentally, physically, spiritually until the point of no return

So now she’s just bitter when in all actuality she’s an abused girl

I originally saw your post on TikTok promoting your work, and I had to come over here to read the full essay because of the topic. Perhaps, I’m optimistic but I believe that we are at the beginning of a new sexual renaissance. Of course, when you mentioned the transactional sex that has been popularized I think this has become the standard under the fall of capitalism, women resorting back to the commodification of their body. This is an especially heartbreaking when I see it encouraged within black communities for obvious historical reasons. Despite the claims, this isn’t sustainable for the average woman who doesn’t want to partake in sex work. It’s the reason we redefine sexual liberty every decade and therefore the relationships we develop change as a consequence. Yet “traditionalism” and “conservatism” will have those that abide by these rules believe they are law, sealed to the fate of living in this world. We are in a crisis of soul connection entirely. Once society can rewire the damage of fighting against empathy to such a degree that the only thing massively progressive is the havoc reeked, we will be much closer to a more prosperous sensual embodiment. I loved the research you pulled into your talking points as well. Taking up addiction would make sense to cope with the growing depersonalization and dehumanization these women must feel. Overall, this is one of my favorite topics and I think the more we apply critical redirection (which isn’t a covert phrase for shame) the more people will resist succumbing to immorality and cease the viral infection of it.
